Welcome to the Open Door Baptist Church. We are a christian, bible teaching and believing church, daily empowered by the word of God. As pastor, it is my mission to introduce everyone that I can, to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a leader, I am committed to service and helping others to find their gifts, so that they too can serve the Lord. One of my most favorite sayings is, membership, with the body of Christ, has it's privileges. However, I will always be honest in letting you know that walking with God is never easy, but it is truly worth it. For it is our belief that Christ died for us, to ultimately receive a wonderful blessing and our belief in Him, guarantees us a place in heaven.

March’s Message from Rev. Dr. Bernard M. Taylor
Greetings,
I want to take the opportunity as we approach the 34th year anniversary celebration date. The time has gone by rather quickly and for me it has been a great time of service. This has been an extraordinary journey and I feel very humbled for being allowed the privilege of being on it with each and every one of you.
The other day I saw my image in a reflection and it was almost as if a stranger was looking at me. As I took note of the visible changes in my physical form and appearance, I was able to see in myself the marks or scars that the journey has inflicted over the years. No longer present was the younger more fit version of myself that started this journey almost 35 years ago. The person I saw in the image was different, changed, not just older but wiser and stronger in many ways. Made stronger and wiser by the journey and filled with a greater desire to follow the Lord and to serve Him!
It has been a wonderful experience to serve as your pastor these many years. I truly would take nothing for my journey. I thank the Good Lord for the gift of a Pastor’s Heart. This has allowed me to serve you all with joy and gladness! It has not always been easy; however, the work has been personally rewarding and worth it. I have been blessed for the efforts and hopefully I have made a difference in someone’s life along the way.
I want to thank all of the church leaders and officers for your willingness to work with me while we have been on this journey. Each of you has made contributions of time and service that will never be forgotten. More importantly, The Lord has promised to reward you for your faith and faithfulness. Our entire membership, those who are here now as well as those who have gone on, have made many significant contributions to the ministry. You will forever have a testimony in heaven and a witness on earth of your faith and courage!
My thoughts now and my prayers are for Deacon Frederick R. Walker who as we write this has seen better days. I’m asking you all to keep him and his wife Delores in special prayer. His contribution as a faithful servant to our Lord and gift of friendship to me will never be forgotten!
