Welcome to the Open Door Baptist Church. We are a christian, bible teaching and believing church, daily empowered by the word of God. As pastor, it is my mission to introduce everyone that I can, to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a leader, I am committed to service and helping others to find their gifts, so that they too can serve the Lord. One of my most favorite sayings is, membership, with the body of Christ, has it's privileges. However, I will always be honest in letting you know that walking with God is never easy, but it is truly worth it. For it is our belief that Christ died for us, to ultimately receive a wonderful blessing and our belief in Him, guarantees us a place in heaven.

August's Message from Rev. Dr. Bernard M. Taylor
Greetings,
This month I want to start by thanking all of you who have been consistent in your efforts to continue ministry. We have faced challenges in the past and we will face many challenges in the future but we need to remember how we have come to be where we are. We are not and never will be on our own! We are The Lord’s people. We are the sheep of His pasture. He knows where we are and has promised to provide what we need EVERY TIME WE NEED IT!!! Our job is to trust, believe and obey!
This means that we have to continue doing the things that we are responsible for and are, in fact, able to do. This includes but is not limited to reading and studying God's word; continuing to attend worship service, using prayer as a tool and even praying for our enemies. We need to continue to support ministry by giving our tithes and offerings because it matters and because God requires it! We must do our part even while taking advantage of opportunities to enjoy vacations and other summer leisure activities.
Deuteronomy 7:9 (KJV)
Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
Thanks also to our team that helped with vacation bible school this year. Our effort was chaired by Sis. Ledbetter and she extends her thanks to all who gave their support.
Please keep in prayer all of the delegates and our international partners traveling to the Lott Carey annual session.
