Welcome to the Open Door Baptist Church. We are a christian, bible teaching and believing church, daily empowered by the word of God. As pastor, it is my mission to introduce everyone that I can, to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a leader, I am committed to service and helping others to find their gifts, so that they too can serve the Lord. One of my most favorite sayings is, membership, with the body of Christ, has it's privileges. However, I will always be honest in letting you know that walking with God is never easy, but it is truly worth it. For it is our belief that Christ died for us, to ultimately receive a wonderful blessing and our belief in Him, guarantees us a place in heaven.
From the Pastor's Desk
June's Message from Rev. Dr. Bernard M. Taylor
GREETINGS,
This month, I want to begin by thanking all of you who faithfully support the Church Sunday School. Many of you attend on a regular basis and I believe it is important for you to know just how thankful and grateful I am for your continued commitment.
While we do not live in a perfect society, I fully understand that people have many options and choices in life. Thank God that many of you have chosen to attend weekly and support this ministry in very tangible ways. You do far more than provide contributions for materials and various projects. I truly believe that your prayers have had the greatest impact on anything we might measure as success.
I also want to thank all of the technical personnel and those who support the administrative staff and efforts of the Sunday School ministry. To all of you unsung heroes, you make it possible for the teachers to focus on the study and teaching of God’s Word each week.
I would like to challenge our Sunday School family to increase our footprint. Let us make it our goal for everyone who attends to invite someone else to join us, either virtually or in person. Together, we can be a blessing and share the blessings that come through the study of God’s Holy Word.
I also want to take this opportunity to salute all fathers in recognition of Father’s Day this year. This is an excellent opportunity to strengthen our bond as men of God.
Reach out to a man in your life who has shown you a father’s love and let him know how much you appreciate what he has shared with you. Such a simple act can bring encouragement, comfort, and joy to another person.
Finally, we are living in very challenging times. Let us endeavor to hold tightly to God’s unchanging hand and live knowing that God will ultimately have the final word.
